Multilevel Marketing (MLM) – do you know what it is? I know
you've been exposed to it. You've been approached by someone selling soap or
perfume products, right? Hey was that just a "pink" Cadillac that just passed
you? Haven't you had the pleasure of a good friend or relative cornering you and
spending an hour telling you about a "can't miss" business opportunity and
trying to get you to join? I know you have had a least one of those unlucky
experiences during your life. Well my friend unlucky those experiences are your
exposures to the small business opportunity of multilevel marketing.
The other way, I'm sure you've been exposed is reading ads
or watching commercials for some get rich quick schemes. With these kinds of
exposures is it any wonder that the whole multilevel marketing industry is
looked at with so much distaste? But it sounds good and you want to explore a
MLM opportunity as an idea for you new small business. Well if it sounds too
good, you know the saying," if's it sounds too good to be true…" you had better
make sure that..
You Investigate It
Thoroughly
if you feel this is the right opportunity for you to
pursue, do the following:
First read the
"7
Lies about Network Marketing"
which is a free report that will help you see clearly as you investigate any
multilevel marketing opportunity.
Second test the product.
-
Buy the product. Get the least amount that you can up to
one months supply.
-
Use it for one month.
-
Take it as directed for the whole month then ask
yourself.
-
During your month trial, comparison shop for similar
products.
If you do that for a month, you'll both believe in the
product and be able to sell it or you'll be looking for another opportunity.
The third thing to do is to determine if the product is
exclusive to the multilevel marketing company. If not it's opportunity hunting
time again.
And the fourth question you need to answer. is the product
targeted at a large enough population who can afford it and is a product that
can consumed regularly by that population?
If the product passes all of the above tests to your
satisfaction, it is time to investigate the MLM company selling the product.
-
Is the current business at least 3-5 years old?
-
Has the management been successful?
-
Do you know a good mentor within the management of the
company?
-
Is the company private or publicly traded? (The right
answer here is Private!)
-
Is the compensation plan fair and easy to explain to
others?
If you are satisfied that the product is sellable and one
you would be proud to represent; and you like the company; then by all means
proceed with this opportunity based on the recommendations in Ann Sieg's e-book,
"The
Renegade Network Marketer".
